Heavy Metal Tea Towels
Black and grays are hard to achieve in the world of natural dyes. Heavy metals such as iron (furious sulfate), are used during the process to shift the color of the dye.
Cutch created a warm chocolate. Logwood created a cool lavender. Pomegranate a dark grey green and Marigold an earthy wheat.
You will notice the textured nature of the towels. This is where the raw dye material and/or iron had settled at one point during the bath creating the unique patterns for each one.
