POMEGRANATE + IRON Tea Towel

28” x 28” 100% Cotton Towel.

The towels are dyed using natural raw materials. Some of the dyestuffs will remain on the towel after curing. All towels have been pretreated to ensure colorfastness and longevity with proper care. Below is a description of the dye/s used.

POMEGRANATE  From the rinds of the pomegranate fruit (Punica granatum), this dyestuff is high in tannin. The whole fresh fruit can be used as well.

IRON  Ferrous sulfate is used as a color changer. It shifts a color to a deeper, darker shade. For the pomegranate, this yielded a complex gray-green.

Iron is added to the bath. Small bits of iron can rest on the fabric during the process creating speckles of a darker shade. Making each towel unique and different from the others. No two towels are a like.
